Itinerary

DAY 1: Start of tour in Rome - Venice

Welcome to the Europe Highlights tour! Travel from Rome to Venice through majestic Italian landscapes which never fail to impress. Arrive and discover iconic landmarks like St. Mark’s Square and the Grand Canal. This evening, join the optional Evening in Venice excursion for a twilight water taxi cruise, gondola ride and dinner at a local restaurant.

DAY 2: Innsbruck - Munich - Bavaria Region

Arrivederci, for now Italy! Head north through spectacular countryside. Admire the breathtaking Brenner Pass before stopping in Innsbruck, Austria, for an orientation tour and free time. Continue to Munich in Germany’s beautiful Bavaria region. Embark on a city tour and enjoy a delicious three-course Bavarian dinner at a historic local restaurant.

DAY 3: Munich - Rhine Valley

Today, head to one of the most picturesque sections of the Rhine River. Arrive in the Rhine Valley and relax onboard a riverboat as it travels past vineyards, charming medieval towns and lofty cliffs. Afterwards, visit a local wine merchant for a wine tasting. If the harvest has been good, try eiswein (ice wine)!

DAY 4: Rhine Valley - Amsterdam

En route to Amsterdam, travel through the Dutch countryside. Enjoy a photo stop at the Riekermolen windmill. Then, indulge in a cheese and clog-making display - and sample delicious local cheeses! Arrive in Amsterdam this afternoon and enjoy free time before embarking on a twilight canal cruise. Afterwards, look forward to an included dinner at a local restaurant.

DAY 5: Amsterdam - Ghent - Paris

Today, head to the Belgian city of Ghent. This picturesque cultural hub is known for its remarkable medieval architecture. Later, travel to Paris, the ‘City of Lights’! Embark on a driving tour and get your cameras ready for the city’s most treasured landmarks, including the Eiffel Tower and Arc de Triomphe! Enjoy dinner at a local restaurant this evening.

DAY 6: Paris: Free Day

Enjoy a free day to explore all this magical city has to offer. Join the Paris Like Locals excursion for a day full of unique Parisian experiences. These include a macaron tasting, a parfumerie tour and a visit to the Latin Quarter! This evening, choose to explore the stunning Montmartre neighbourhood and watch an exciting cabaret show!

DAY 7: Paris - Burgundy - Swiss Alps

Say Au revoir Paris and get a taste of small-town France with a lunch stop in Beaune, Burgundy. Visit the beautiful Hospices de Beaune or try local wine! Then, travel to the spectacular Swiss Alps. Surrounded by snow-capped peaks and clear-blue lakes, take in idyllic scenery at every angle. Settle into the hotel and enjoy an included dinner tonight.

DAY 8: Swiss Alps: Free Day

The Swiss Alps have some of the highest peaks in the world! Take the opportunity to feel on top of the world at Jungfraujoch on this free day. Admire picture-perfect beauty all around, play in the year-round snow and look forward to endless photo opportunities. Why not warm up this evening with a delicious Swiss fondue dinner?

DAY 9: Swiss Alps - Lake Como - Tuscany

Head back towards Italy, stopping at the glamorous Lake Como. Fringed by picturesque scattered villages, it's not surprising that George Clooney owns a luxurious villa here. Then, it's onwards to the exquisite Tuscan region - famous for wine, food, art and architecture. Settle in Montecatini Terme and join tonight’s optional excursion to fully experience this gorgeous spa town!

DAY 10: Tuscany - Pisa - Florence - Rome

This morning, capture photos at the UNESCO-listed Leaning Tower of Pisa! Then, head to Florence for a locally-guided walking tour. History oozes out of every pore of this artistic Renaissance city. Afterwards, join the Taste of Tuscany optional excursion to indulge in a delectable family-style meal. Finally, return to Rome to end the tour. Safe travels from Expat Explore!
